GTC Sample Portfolio: Oops. Forgot to Update the Trades

Note: As stated in the first article for the GTC Sample Portfolio, we’re keeping our quantitative processes private; but will share the moves we make on an actual portfolio, and then show the results via a Grid, VAMI and performance statistics. And please note our risk statement. You can find the previous post for the GTC Sample Portfolio here.

Oops.

We like to post all of the trades from the GTC Sample Portfolio, here to the ‘big website’. For the sake of transparency. So ones who are new to what we do, can see that we are not of the FURU sort that discuss what did work in the past. But we talk about trades that are of a long enough periodicity; that ones can see the trades as they occur in the present.

We meant to post a “Friday wrap up” of the trades we took last week. And here it is Sunday, and are only now doing so.

Oops.

We post adjustments to our trades to both Tier 1 and Tier 2 Members as they occur. But, so that we have such a public update? Let’s discuss our trades last week.

Started off July, right away with a loser. First trade? Boom. Loss. But we implemented a very specific risk model for taking such trades, such that the loss was very, very small. We bought 13 IBIT at $36.21, and had to exit the position at $32.05 as Bitcoin gapped us. The total loss was something like 42 BPS.

We then bought 420 TBIL at $49.82. At the same time, we entered a number of option trades. We sold puts in NVDA by selling Jul 26 2024 92 Puts at 0.16 In NVDA; 1 put per 50k. We then sold Jul 26 SPY 565/570 Call Spreads (A defined Risk trade) for 0.59; 1 call spread per 50k. As SPY started to rally last week, we then sold Jul 26 SPY 536/531 Call Spreads for 0.24; 1 call spread per 50k. And finally, we sold Aug 2 EWZ 26.5 naked puts; 1 put per 50k.

Naturally, we still have our other longer term positions (unhedged) of …

6 shares of Medtronic (MDT) at $82.979
3 shares of International Business Machines (IBM) at $170.06
30 shares of Invesco’s Emerging Markets Sovereign Debt ETF (PCY) at $18.72
13 shares of Invesco’s S&P 500 High Dividend Low Volatility ETF (SPHD) at $42.31
9 shares of SPDR’s Utilities Sector Fund ETF (XLU) at $62.22
6 shares of SPDR’s High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) at $91.17
13 shares of Kroger (KR) at $45.92
1 share of Coscto (COST) at $506.90
3 shares of Union Pacific (UNP) at $206.73
13 shares of Wells Fargo (WFC) at $41.82
4 shares of Diageo PLC (DEO) at $152.06
15 shares of WisdomTree’s U.S. Efficient Core Fund at $35.67
3 shares of Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) at $198.48

And the dividends on all of those pieces are being recorded, as they come in.

Remember, that we are running a 7 day free trial for Tier 2 Members, in which we discuss the quantitative why, and how of these trades.

Stay safe and trade well …
