GTC Sample Portfolio: A Few Adjustments Before FOMC

So it’s just a few hours before FOMC, and the press conference. I usually look over the portfolios I manage to see if there is anything I want or need to do beforehand. I did make a few adjustments, and I’m going to translate that over to the GTC Sample Portfolio.

First of all, our yield came to maturity for the 4 week bills we had purchased last month. Nearly free 37 BPS. So we are doing the same this month. Bought 4 week bills off the secondary market. They expire a little before the end of February; so it’s something like 34 BPS after commissions for calling to the Trade Desk to get the Bills purchased.

We then have our PLTR, PARA and USO trades. I’m not doing anything with those trades for now.

That left us with our SPY trade, that expires today. It was clearly in the profit, so rather than mess around before FOMC I closed it down and exited at 0.02, to confirm that profit.

All that’s left to do is listen to what the Fed has to say and watch that March 2025 SOFR contract, as I had previously mentioned.
