GTC Sample Portfolio: Exited 2 Positions and Review

As stated in the first article for the GTC Sample Portfolio, we’re keeping our quantitative processes private; but will share the moves we make on an actual portfolio. And please note our risk statement. We shared this in our Member Area just a bit earlier in the day.

We had a nice morning.

To review our longer term holds, and for that strategy in the GTC Sample Portfolio, we own …

3 shares of IBM at 170.06
30 shares of PCY at $18.72
13 shares of SPHD at $42.31
9 shares of XLU at $62.22
6 shares of JNK at $91.17
13 shares of KR at $45.92
1 share of COST at $506.90
3 shares of UNP at $206.73
13 shares of WFC at $41.82
4 shares of DEO at $152.06
15 shares of NTSX at $35.67

We’ve been counting all the dividends that have been coming in, and those holdings have been hitting all-times. And don’t forget that we hold 4 week Treasury bills, only using 4% of the total portfolio capital to hold the $50,000 worth that we have there.

We did have an SH position that we held during the downturn. We had shedded some of it before this point; but this morning we got rid of the last of it. We sold small remaining SH position, by selling 116 SH at $11.86 to close.

In terms of Short Term Trades? To review those, we have …

1 Sold Short USO 65 / 88 Strangle Sold for a credit prem of 0.44
15 shares of SPY at $510.04
1 Sold Short SPY 475 / 547 Strangle sold for a credit prem of 1.97
22 shares of QQQ at $435.45
85 shares of TLT at $89.67
1 Sold Short TLT 95 Call for a measly credit prem of 0.15
212 shares of SHY at $81.31

We did have a TBF position that we held for the last few days. But this morning we dumped all of that; exiting TBF by selling 31 shares of TBF at $23.90 to close.
