GTC Sample Portfolio: Purchase of Costco (COST)

As stated in the first article for the GTC Sample Portfolio, we’re keeping our quantiative processes private, but will share the moves we make on an actual portfolio. And please note our risk statement.

So Costco (COST) earnings were well received by the market. I had actually taken my eye off it this morning, and only noticed a few moments ago well into the afternoon that COST was up by over $20.00 on the day.

So, we are only buying 1 (ONE) share of COST at the moment, for the sample portfolio of $50,000.00. Why only one share? What periodicity will we hold this one share? Again: we’re keeping our quantiative processes private, but will share the moves we make on an actual portfolio. Suffice to say, that bankroll management, how we manage the ‘stack’ is critical. Something you never hear the FURU’s discuss. As well as the fact that any well constructed portfolio would have multiple strategies running within it. I am willing to say, for this particular strat, the position size is light; due to factors I had mentioned previously in other articles.

So given a number of factors we have considered, we’re counting 1 (ONE) share of COST being bought for the Sample Portfolio, at $506.90. A little late to the party for a purchase? But given the approach being used, it won’t matter. No commissions were charged, since HFT Arbitrage allows for this, and we only pay a bit in the spread at the time of purchase.

That’s all for now. Don’t forget this sample Portfolio benefits in the capital available from the original post, from capital contributions. Of course, that will not contribute to performance. But those capital contributions will continue to stack up over time.

Much more to come …
